Rainmatter Capital Leads Seed Funding Round for Legal Startup RuleZero

Legal services and fintech platform RuleZero has secured ₹10 crore in a seed funding round spearheaded by Rainmatter Capital. The investment consortium includes prominent figures such as Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, law firm IndusLaw, and Reddy Futures LLP, among others.

Founded in 2019 by Satish Mugulavalli and Srinivas Katta, RuleZero operates as an incubated startup at IndusLaw. The company specializes in managing ownership data for businesses, automating share issuance procedures, and offering tools for monitoring cap tables and transaction management. Additionally, RuleZero functions as a marketplace, facilitating connections with other legal and fintech service providers.

According to Katta, the absence of streamlined processes and a centralized repository of information has led to compliance challenges, liquidity constraints, increased financing expenses, and delays for private companies. RuleZero aims to address these issues by providing comprehensive solutions.

Mugulavalli, an experienced entrepreneur with ventures in Silicon Valley and India, previously served as a partner at YourNest Venture Capital. On the other hand, Katta, a corporate lawyer, holds the distinction of being one of the founding partners of IndusLaw.

Nithin Kamath, the founder and CEO of Zerodha, emphasized Rainmatter Capital’s commitment to identifying and supporting innovative tech companies facilitating financial transactions. Rainmatter Capital, an incubator associated with the Zerodha stock trading platform, continues to actively seek out such ventures in its investment endeavors.
