The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Medical Academy Faculty of Public Health, designed by Architectural Bureau G.Natkevicius & Partners, is a testament to modern architecture within a historic context.

Contextual Integration

Situated within a campus rich in architectural heritage, the new building respects its surroundings while embracing contemporary design principles. Enveloped by interwar modernist structures, the building echoes the aesthetic of its predecessors with restrained volumes and organic elements.

Functional Design

Spanning three floors above ground and one underground, the building accommodates educational and research facilities for staff and students. Auditoriums, lecture rooms, and research laboratories are strategically distributed throughout, fostering collaboration and innovation.

Architectural Harmony

The building seamlessly integrates into the existing urban fabric, aligning with the campus’s central pedestrian axis. Two atriums, one public and one private, serve as focal points, providing ample natural light and creating dynamic spatial experiences.

Structural Elegance

Built using concrete loadbearing walls, slabs, and columns, the structure embodies the rational construction ideals of the interwar modernist era. This construction method not only pays homage to the surrounding architecture but also ensures cost-effectiveness and durability.

Aesthetic Simplicity

The façade, adorned with soft-textured plaster, exudes elegance and solidity. Inside, the focus is on raw materials such as concrete, glass partitions, and wood-textured floors, creating a minimalist yet inviting atmosphere conducive to learning and research.

The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Medical Academy Faculty of Public Health stands as a modern beacon of education, seamlessly blending heritage with innovation to create a space that inspires and empowers the next generation of healthcare professionals.
